Grow Chicken is an independent website for backyard chicken keepers. We publish practical guides on chicken breeds, feed, coops, eggs and hatching, and flock health, plus free tools such as our coop size calculator and feed calculator.
Who We Are
Grow Chicken is run by a small editorial team. Our articles are published under the pen name Eric Cooper, a shared byline for the team rather than a single person. We are not veterinarians, so our health guides are general information and always point you to a poultry vet when a bird needs one.
How We Create Content
We research each topic using university extension services, veterinary references, government guidance, breed standards and manufacturer information, and we explain it in plain language for backyard keepers. Our editorial policy sets out our sources, how we handle health topics, how we choose products and how we correct mistakes.
How Grow Chicken Is Funded
The site is free to read. It is supported by ads (Google AdSense) and by affiliate commissions when readers buy products through some of our links, at no extra cost to them. Commissions do not decide what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
